The study of Arctic natural and cultural heritage

The article is devoted to the study of the natural complexes and the coastal areas of the Arctic, the assessment of geographic environment of the objects of natural and cultural heritage. Considering Pustozersk as an example the author provides the description of the interaction of natural processes and human economical activity, and gives the assessment of its influence to the objects of cultural heritage. While suggesting a rationale of the Pustozersk town as a cultural phenomenon the author points to the monuments of archaeology as to the undisputed evidence and explains the attraction to the development of this place by the peculiarities of the natural environment.
