Challenges of identification, study and preservation of cultural and natural heritage of the Russian Arctic on the territory of the Arkhangelsk region

The article is devoted to the challenges in a complex approach to identification, study and preservation of cultural and natural heritage of the Russian Arctic on the territory of the Arkhangelsk region. The author gives an idea about the peculiarities of the Arctic cultural heritage, offers its classification and justifies the need to continue works on the identification, study and preservation of the objects of Russian Arctic heritage. The author gives arguments of the importance of the historical and geographical experiments on the trail of the Arctic explorers, their role in the disclosure of unknown events and in the development of Arctic tourism.
