Orenburg cossack army in the ХIХ century

Godovova Elena Viktorovna  (Orenburg branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration)

In the middle of XVIII century the Orenburg Cossack army has been formed in the southeast of Russian empire. The army was reformed for several times during its existence, therefore it has got the strict military organization. The phenomenon of the Orenburg Cossacks is regarded in the article, its peculiar features are characterized and the adaptation of the Orenburg Cossack army to processes of modernization of a society in XIX century is depicted.
