Theoretical and applied problems OF WORD semantic description with semЕs (based on Russian and English persons' nominations)

The aim of this study is to present the description of linguistic units serving to denote persons’ nominations by means of the specially worked out unified metalanguage. The description of Russian sememes and their corresponding English translations for the purpose of their contrastive analysis and receiving data about national specific features of their semantics is suggested to carry out with the aid of the unified semantic description methodology. The results of such description of words and phrases may be used in lexicography.
