Excursion work as a means of formation of local history competences

The article is devoted to the analysis of the excursion as a means of forming historical and regional studies competencies. Analysis of pedagogical opportunities made excursions from the perspective of competence-based approach. It is proved that the excursion, becoming of a part of pedagogical process, takes over the functions of education and training of the person, formation of his outlook, provides perception, understanding and judgment of the seen.
