Vladimir zemstvo activities in the field of nature protection and management (1866-1917)

The article on materials Vladimir province considers the main activities of the «zemstvo» (elective district council in pre-revolutionary Russia) in conservation and environmental management in 1866-1917. The article analyzed the directions, methods, forms and results of operations in water conservation, forest and soil resources of the province. Natural potential of the Vladimir region is considered as a factor in successful economic development.
