Historical and Artistic Reenactment of XVII century Kiev Ball

Dovhopol Nataliya   (fellow at National Academy of Managerial Staff of Culture and Arts (Kiev, Ukraine) )

The article is about theoretical and practical aspects of historical and cultural reenactment of old balls, in particular, devoted to a current experience of preparation of early Baroque ball, held in XVII century Kiev. The major attention is drawn to the reenactments of old XVII century dances: European as well as Ukrainian ones. The other aspects of ball reconstruction, such as idea, music, costumes, and decorations are also covered.
