The History of Baku Oil Industry and the Second Oil Boom: A Historiography

Analysis of scientific literature on the history of the Baku oil industry from the second half of the 19th century to the early 21st century is presented in the article. The work pays special attention to the general and distinctive characteristics of the First and the Second Baku Oil Boom, as well as to the problems of exploration for Caspian oil in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
