Lexical and stylistic peculiarities of the language of the sermons of St. Innocent (Borisov)

The article considers the lexical and stylistic peculiarities of the language of the sermons of a prominent Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Innocent (Borisov), Archbishop of Kherson and Taurida (1800-1857). The study contains an analysis of the rhetorical and stylistic techniques of a preacher. The article discusses the traditional methods and techniques typical for the work of St. Innocent, describes the different styles, shows the peculiarity of the use of scientific vocabulary. Each position is argued for with examples from the sermons of St. Innocent.
