Provincial politician of the era of revolution: some pages of the political biography of E.N. Kozin

In article on the basis of for the first time the documents of the Nizhny Novgorod archives introduced for scientific use the figure of the prominent Nizhny Novgorod politician of an era of revolution – E.N. Kozina is considered. The special attention is paid to issues of forming of political elite, conditions of success of political leaders which are resolved on the example of the specific person and are illustrated by pictures from his political biography. Considering unstable public moods, and also a difficult social and economic situation, "new political promoted workers" had to maneuvre between interests of various social groups and to adapt to requests of society. Similar political practice of frank populism was on the one hand the key to success of leaders and provided them stability of a provision, and with another was extremely risky step for political career leading to a failure.
