From the history of the activities of the Scientific research association of the Institute of the peoples of the North of TSIK of USSR after P. G. Smidovich

The article is the result of the author’s work on the publication activities of the scientific research association in the 1930s. Special attention is paid to the formation of impressions about the kinship structure and its features. The works by L. G. Morgan, L. Ya. Shternberg. E. Ya. Kreinovich, A. F. Anisimov, P. E. Terletsky, V. G. Bogoraz served as the material for this work. The study of the works by these authors allowed us to show the significance of the work done by the scientific research association on the formation of impressions about the indigenous peoples of the North.
