Law no freedom or without freedom rights: strategic partnership between the social groups in the context of the decisions of the serf question in Russia in early 19th century

The paper presents the results of a comparative analysis of the different strategies of behavior of the representatives of the nobility, the merchants and the peasantry in the conditions of existence of personal dependence of the peasants and the conventions of the right to property. Special attention is is paid to the aspirations of persons not of noble origin to receive the right to purchase "land inhabited by peasants" and the illegal transfer of the right to control the peasants on the "veryuschim" letters.
