Characteristics of foreign-language real reading of cadets of higher educational establishments of EMERCOM of Russia

The article represents the main characteristics of foreign-language real reading of cadets of higher educational establishments of EMERCOM of Russia. Reading flexibility, developing technical reading skills and reading strategies are regarded as the main characteristics of foreign-language real reading that maintain the interaction between the reader and the text while reading comprehension and extracting information. In the process of teaching and improving reading skills it is important to use three types of texts: linear texts, nonlinear texts and mixed texts, that gives an opportunity to use different strategies in reading a text.
