Azerbaijan's Oil Diplomacy and the Problem of the Repeal of the 907th Amendment to the American Freedom Support Act

The article is devoted to oil diplomacy of Azerbaijan in the 1990s, cooperation between Azerbaijan and the USA not only in oil and gas exploration profitable projects. Under a correct balance of forces, the projects could open the door to new relations at a higher political and economic level and eliminate artificial obstacles that prevented establishment of broader mutually beneficial relations in other economic and cultural spheres. One of such artificial obstacles was Section 907 of the United States Freedom Support Act adopted by the Congress in October 1992.
