Typology of female images and the «ideal woman» in the novels of I.A. Goncharov

One of the Central problems of world literature is a high art study of the psychology of women. There is probably no single book, pages which would not be her image – a friend, beloved, wife, mother or treacherous and cruel seductress, murderer, whore. The article presents the typology of female images in I. A. Goncharov's novels, an attempt is made to characterize the "female ideal" within the meaning of the writer.
