The representation of the cognitive fragment “interpersonal relationship” in the language picture of the world (based on the analysis of Russian and German somatic idioms)

The article researches how somatic idioms can represent the man’s concepts of interpersonal relationship in the Russian and German language pictures of the world. The article presents the description of the most frequent cognitive signs which constitute the cognitive fragment of “interpersonal relationship”. They are “hurting someone”, “threatening someone with body violence/murder or grievous bodily harm”, “forcing someone to do something”, “power, dominance”. The article offers the analysis of the symbolic meanings of somatisms that represent the cognitive fragment of “interpersonal relationship”, gives the description of universal and specific national ways of representing the man’s concepts of interpersonal relationship in the Russian and German language pictures of the world and shows the similarities and differencies of the studied lexemic stock.
