Housing question of the NEP in the soviet city and the attempts at the solution (on the example of Saratov)

The article examines the phenomenon of the housing crisis in the Soviet city of 1920-ies. The problem of the housing problem and the attempts at resolution are considered on the example of one of the major regional centres of Soviet Russia – the city of Saratov. Residents of Saratov, not only survived the horrors of the Civil war, but also the catastrophic famine of 1921-1922., with full felt the effects of these social upheavals. One of those consequences is becoming a housing crisis that has engulfed the city during the course of the NEP. Implemented from the second half of the 1920s. the plan of housing cooperatives in Saratov, was the real program of an exit from the protracted housing crisis.
