Teaching foreign languages as one of the main conditions for the development of language education in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

The article is devoted to the issues of language education, and also reviews the issues of the modern language policy of the Republic of Sakha (Russia) and the activities carried out at the university level. The article focuses on the conditions for teaching foreign languages from the standpoint of the formation of multilingualism as one of the factors of successful internationalization. For the sustainable development of a higher education institution in the developed trends, it is necessary to make significant efforts to strengthen its competitiveness in the global educational environment and to adopt in addition to the financial and standard aspects the decision to take action at the institutional level. The assessment of the internationalization status of the higher educational institution was carried out on the basis of an analysis of the data presented on official websites, the results of a survey of decision-makers, a survey of Russian and foreign students of the North-Eastern Federal University named after MK Ammosov (NEFU).
