The development of the concept of profession in the Russian language picture of the world

Profession is relevant to both individual representatives of the Russian linguistic culture, and society in General. This study has allowed to trace the development of the concept of profession, which originated in the Russian language picture of the world in the early eighteenth century, This concept, which constitutes one of language universals, today acquires the status of a concept. The material for this work was the dictionary and the official documents of XVIII – XX centuries, as well as data from the National corpus of the Russian language.
