The article analyses prospective approaches to teaching English as a foreign language. The university course focuses on the development of intercultural professional competence, one of the main drivers of successful communication in the linguistically and culturally diverse world. The intercultural component of the curriculum, based on the authentic information and International English Language Testing System defines the context of language classrooms intercultural practice and creates the real linguistic environment, which prepares students to collaborate effectively in a constantly changing global society.
