Semantics of reduplication

Many works have been written about the semantic characteristics of reduplication. Majority touch either semantics of reduplication in individual languages or separate aspects . Frequently significance of repetition ,intensity,and reciprocity is considered. However in the row of languages significance coverage of reduplication is broader. Consequently, significance line of reduplication has not been investigated completely yet ,especially in the branch of typology. In the article we deal with the meaning of weakening, similarity, expressed by reduplication in the languages of various typology. The meaning of weakening is realized mainly by reduplication, whereas the meaning of similarity by reduplication of nouns as well as of predicative.
