Concept “Patriotism” in Russian linguistic culture

The author of the article reveals the main principles and the substantial as-pects of the concept PATRIOTISM. This concept is not only the basic con-cept of the Russian language picture of the world. It may be called national idea of the whole Russian nation. Appealing to the explanatory dictionaries and historical documents the author proves that concept PATRIOTISM is a part of the Russian history and Russian life during centuries. And though this concept has some negative characteristics nowadays, it unites the Rus-sian people as it was in the most difficult periods of the Russian history and the Russian life.
