The article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of cultural and educational institutions of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army during the military conflicts in the Far East in 1938-1939. Based on unpublished archival sources, cultural and educational work is shown in units and divisions during their stay in the Far East. The means, forms and methods of spiritual impact on servicemen, revealed achievements and shortcomings are considered. The main directions of work of cultural and educational institutions are singled out: provision of combat training, strengthening of military discipline, political education of personnel. It is emphasized that artists contributed significantly to the creation of a patriotic upsurge in the troops. It is noted that as a result of ongoing work to ensure combat training and strengthen military discipline with real achievements, there were significant shortcomings that can not evaluate its results as positive. At the same time, the time when you do this, when you gain momentum, when you gain momentum, and also the desire to get to the front. The conclusion says that the cultural and educational work in the Red Army during the fighting at Lake Khasan and on the Khalkhin-Gold River, with common in content and in form, had its own specifics. In connection with this, political agencies, when carrying out this work with personnel, placed the appropriate accents.
