Problematic aspects of the traslator’s activity in criminal process: the consideration of a linguist

In the article some problems of interpreters’ and translators’ participation in criminal proceeding are highlighted from the perspective of a linguist. The author refers to modern legal research to identify the translation activity’s aspects in a separate area of law. In the review the main problems of the translator’s participation and special training are summarized. Studying the law specialists’ observations the author identifies the translation specificity in criminal proceeding paying attention to the versatility of the interpreter’s and translator’s work.
