Historical significance and the main results of NEP in the USSR

The article examines the historical significance and main results of the new economic policy in the USSR. It is shown that the main idea of the NEPa was the restoration of agricultural production with the help of cooperative farms, while peasants remained the main and immediate force. Particular attention is drawn to the transition in the NEP years from command-administrative management methods to economic ones through serious competition between the state, cooperatives, banks and private individuals. An analysis of numerous sources on this topic showed that prices introduced during the NEP for agricultural products and industrial goods completely covered public sector expenditures and sent them to priority sectors of the economy.
