The article discusses the problematic issues of mathematics education. The methodology of expert assessment of priority study of various branches of mathematics and the development of structural logical scheme of interrelation of the branches of mathematics with special subjects. As a generalized indicator of the priority it is proposed to introduce "overall rating of the section of mathematics", which summarizes how the evaluation of teachers, students, and the number of connections of this section with special subjects. Using this methodology the assessment of the priority areas of mathematics in the preparation of specialists of economic directions which should be considered in the development of curricula and working programs.
