The article is devoted to the peculiarities of representation of inferences in the artistic texts of natural languages (German and Russian). The subject of the study was the complex sentences in German and Russian. The relevance of the study is due to the poorly understood inferences in the natural language (German and Russian) in the logical-linguistic aspect on the basis of complex sentences with subordinate conditional sentences. In this connection, this article is aimed at revealing the fact that complex sentences appear in German and Russian languages from the point of view of logical constructions. The methodology of our study of empirical material assumes a logical-linguistic analysis of German and Russian complex sentences, as well as methods: continuous sampling, statistical, descriptive-analytical method. The material for the study was the complex sentences from the original texts of the works of German authors of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the texts of their official Russian translations. On the basis of the conducted logical and linguistic analysis, the authors explain how logical German conclusions are represented in artistic German-language texts and how these conclusions prove themselves in the official translation into Russian. The novelty of the work consists in applying the logical-linguistic analysis of the material of the artistic text, on the basis of which the authors come to the conclusion that analysis of the natural language by the methods of formal logic is possible and requires further careful study. The results of the analysis can serve as a contribution to the theory of translation and, in fact, to the practice of teaching the translation of German texts into Russian.
