The representation of dynamic situation by location verbs

In this work the problem of spatial metaphor is analyzed from the point of view of dynamic process represented by location verbs. The location verbs sit, stand, lie are represented as the verbs showing the location of a process. The analisys is conducted on the comparison of Russian and English location verbs. The theoretical part is based on the fundamental works of such linguists as Ye.S. Kubryakova, V.G. Gak, Ye.V. Rakhilina.
