Delia Esther Suardiaz and the establishment of feminine linguistics

The article is devoted to describing the establishment of feminine linguistics and the work of Delia Esther Suardiaz. Suardiaz’s contribution in the advancement of gender asymmetry investigation was never discussed in Russian linguistics. Suardiaz was one of the first to analyse the Spanish gender asymmetry composing an extensive corpus of words and expressions; she also raised a question on the Spanish category of gender in professions and jobs. Despite her work being available to a restricted circle of researchers, Suardiaz’s expertise had an indubitable impact on the further development of gender linguistics.
