The categorization of location verbs sit, stand, lie from the point of view of conceptual location of objects

The work is devoted to the problem of conceptual meaning of location verbs sit, stand, lie. The location verbs are represented from the point of view of their dictionary meanings and from the point of view of the conceptual ideas that occur in people’s minds while using the location verbs. The location verbs are separated into certain location groups, representing the concept of space. The groups are compared and analyzed in connection with the concept of space exposed by certain location verbs. The theoretical part of the work is based on the fundamental ideas of Rakhilina E.V., Talmy L., Smetanina T.V.
