The question of the genre originality of T. Garipova's story "The Moon and the Sun are inseparable" is considered. Attention is paid to the mythological consciousness of modern people. The results of the comparative analysis of the protagonist are revealed, he is troubled by the actual social problems of our time, such as the relationship between children and parents, the role of the father and mother in the family, the relationship of men and women, moral and ethical problems, people's attitude to nature, the place of good and evil in world. Questions of reliability of certain aspects of the story are raised. Particular attention is paid to the structure of the text, which determines the presence in it of two evaluation strata. The novelty of the research is seen in the fact that the story of T. Garipova develops ideological ideas of ancient Bashkirs and Aryans. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the mythopoetics of T. Garipova's story to date has not been the subject of a special analysis, despite the long-standing interest of critics to the writer's work. It is proved that myth and reality are combined in the artistic world, the mythological motif is transformed in accordance with the author's intention both consciously and subconsciously the historical memory of the writer. It is concluded that myth serves the author as a means of assessing the consciousness of modern people.
