The use of discourse markers in written scientific discourse

Discursive markers are the leading means of communicative organization of scientific texts. They form the main features of the scientific style: connectivity, consistency and sequence of presentation, marking the order of the author's thoughts. The purpose of this article is to discuss the principles of selection, integral characteristics, as well as the main types of auxiliary units, discursive markers, functioning in scientific written discourse.
