On “the Russian character” (God's tree by I.A. Bunin)

The article is based on God's tree, a story by I.A. Bunin. It is dedicated to philosophical understanding of the Russian national character phenomenon, i.e., to ecclesiastical beginning in national self-consciousness. Use of real prototypes in Bunin’s fiction allows creating the world artistic picture, in which deep philosophy can be seen in everyday routine of a Russian.
