The image of road: semantics and functions of cultural codes (on the material of the collection of stories by O. Slavnikova “Love in the seventh wagon”)

In this article, an attempt was made to analyze text fragments and language units from O. Slavnikova’s collection of stories “Love in the seventh car” in order to identify the cultural codes contained in them, made conclusions on the possibility of determining the peculiarities of the modern Russian linguistic culture’s mentality units. The correct interpretation of cultural codes allows not only to analyze the picture of the world of the carrier of Russian linguistic culture, but also to find multiple external relations with the era, its attributes and explain the reasons for historically established traditions.
