The article actualizes the problem of the formation of a steady cognitive interest and cognitive activity during mastering a course in physics at a technical college. The author considers this problem from the standpoint of the implementation of the principle of staging in the formation of students' cognitive activity. The article substantiates the importance of the physics course for professional engineering activity and reveals the contradictions of low interest in this academic discipline and the increasing professional requirements for the quality of physical knowledge in modern production. The article suggests ways and means of forming the cognitive activity of students to study a course in physics. Concrete examples of attracting alternative concepts of understanding physics within the didactic-methodological structure of the course are considered. The implementation of the proposed ways to improve cognitive activity in the context of the stages of its [cognitive activity] formation is shown. The article also presents the groups of the main directions of attracting interest to the study of physics in the context of professional-applied orientation.
Keywords:technical college, students, physics, cognitive activity, stages of formation, alternative concepts, ways to improve cognitive activity, professional and applied orientation.
