The article analyzes the cultural concepts of Russian philosophical thought of the twentieth century, identifies the sources and foundations of these concepts. The authors justify the spirituality as a strategic culture factor for Russian thinkers. The article paintsout the relationship between concepts of culture and civilization, presented in the works of Russian philosophers, also substantiates their understanding of the specifics of Russian culture and its purpose. The essence of the idea of higher synthesis, predetermines the creative mission of culture as a factor of human perfection and the evolution of mankind. This factor is revealed here.
