The Text Types of the Political Discourse (on modern English)

The article deals with the types of texts that form the modern political English discourse. The extralinguistic features of political texts are described. These features are their prototypical features that determined the peculiarities of the functioning of these texts in the political sphere. These features include: the presence of informative and appeal functions, the institutional nature of the addressee, the conscious nature of the impact, the participation of the central and peripheral constituents of the functional-semantic field of appeal in the implementation of the impact in order to induce the addressee to action.
