Verbs indicating the least intensity of derision in the Russian language (in comparison with Chinese)

The article discusses the semantic features of verbs indicating the least intensity of ridicule in the Russian language – the members of the synonymic series to joke, tease, laugh – in comparison with their equivalents in the Chinese language. The materials of the National corpus of the Russian language are used to analyze the distinctive features of verbs with the least intensity of ridicule from other verbs with the General idea of ridicule; the similarity and differences of the semantics of verbs with the least intensity of ridicule in both languages are described
