Colonial motives in Russian translations of stories by W. S. Maugham

the article deals with culturally marked signs that Express colonial motives in Russian translations of "exotic" stories by W. S. Maugham. Attention is also paid to the transfer of behavioral patterns of the British. Colonial theme was, and still remains significant in the life and literature of the British. It also attracted the attention of researchers of the works of English authors, primarily Victorian-CH. Dickens, D. Conrad, R. Kipling. After all, it was in the XIX century that Britain reached its apogee in the conquest of the colonies, the largest of which was India. The Work Of S. Maugham and images of the colonists in his works addressed in the dissertation I. V. Tricosene.
