The article deals with the problem of relation between concepts of sense and reference. Examples of sentences of ordinary speech give an idea of sense as an action and meaning as a result. A comparison between logic and linguistics shows that logic explains the cognitive value of an utterance but considers only substantives, whereas linguistics tends to reflect on subjective perceptions, which are not involved in cognition. The understanding of sense as an action confirmed by ordinary speech could potentially be the link between logic and linguistics.
