In the article, taking into account the domestic experience of designing tools for assessing the level of competence formation, the principle of creating a fund of assessment tools at the Physics Department of the Voronezh State Technical University based on the differentiated technology is described. The necessity of creating a “block-modular” basis for the fund of assessment means, taking into account the training directions implemented at the university, is substantiated.
