The etymology of representatives of the substancial code of the Russian linguistic culture

This article analyzes lexemes of lexical-phraseological field "substance", which has the borrowed or the native origin as representatives of the Russian linguistic and cultural substancial code. One of the means of its decoding is etymological analysis, which allows to identify potential semes involved in the formation of the substancial code. The study showed that the native lexemes of substancial semantics are more often than borrowed to be the carriers of implicit semes, which determines the specifics of the national picture of the world.
