The article raises the question of changing the purpose of school education and introducing a system of universal educational actions. The concept of "communicative universal educational actions." The diagnostic tools are described in detail. The results of a study aimed at studying the level of formation of communicative universal educational actions in primary school children with mental retardation are discussed
