In this article the zoonymic lexicon of the even and Evenki languages is considered in comparative terms. The paper analyzes the lexical and semantic groups expressing the age, sex characteristics of the deer, the names of the colors, the terms characterizing the nature of the animal, which are included in the common Fund of languages. Collecting such words is an urgent and important task of lexicographers, as today they are threatened with extinction.
This work is based on the materials of dictionaries of the even and Evenki languages, extracts from ethnographic essays and materials of scientific expeditions of the authors.
The actual material shows that there are quite a lot of names of deer in the Evenk and Evenk languages. Their appearance is due to the fact that reindeer husbandry is one of the main branches of management of indigenous peoples of the North. The origin of any name has a special motivation.
