The problem of the military-political status of the united Germany in the negotiation process of German unity in 1990

The article considers to the question of Germany's membership in NATO during the negotiation process about German unity. The author examines the position of the USSR, which has undergone significant changes during the negotiation process, the reasons and factors of the US-West German cooperation success concerning the entry of the United Germany into NATO, and also analyzes the consequences of that decision for European security and international relations.
