In the article on the example of the politicization of the municipal dumas of Siberia within the chronological borders from January to October 1905, the process of formation of a liberation-type movement (“new” liberalism) in the liberal movement of the region is considered. In the context of historical research and on the basis of sources of official clerical work and personal origin, the author comes to the conclusion: on the rise of the revolution of 1905-1907. in the activities of the city duma and the Duma commissions, on the one hand, on the platform of the Constituent Assembly, a fairly consistent reaction of the liberals to the Slavophile-style governmental “constitutionalism”, on the other, during the disintegration of the Zemstvo party “Talks”, gradually “cleared” from regionalism, in the Siberian liberal movement, the drift to the left flank of the Zemstvo liberalism on the paths of its rapprochement with the liberators intensified, which, along with the political and open nature of the meetings of the city duma (with the participation and radical democratic forces), shows the radicalization of the liberal movement. Thus, the concept of the tactics of the “left bloc” in the liberal movement and the legitimacy of the research approach from the standpoint of the revision of the role of the liberals in the revolution of 1905-1907 are confirmed.
