The purpose of the work - to analyze the production forces and to indicate their relationship with the family on the example of the families of the village of Mordovia Maskino Krasnoslobodsky district of Penza province in the first half of the XIX century.
Method.
Methodological potential includes: a comparative historical method, the use of which allows us to show a comparative analysis of the development of different families; statistical method, the importance of which is obvious for the analysis of data related to changes in the peasant family during the study period.
Result.
The study showed that in the first half of the XIX century in the agricultural sector, the division of the economy, first of all, took into account its potential in production. Thanks to the methodology developed by A. V. Chayanov, the advantages of large peasant family groups in the first half of the XIX century were shown.
Conclusion.
It can be concluded that the sections, first of all, came from a difficult situation in the family (death of the head of the family, recruitment, unauthorized care, etc.). As noted above, there were only 3 sections between 1816 and 1850. One of the sections was short-lived and led again to the unification, as the section was not economically profitable, so the family United again. All this only increases the importance of large families that were economically profitable in the pre-reform period.
