The formation of the basic economic culture of the personality of a high school student - an athlete is a complex and multifaceted task, the solution of which is constrained by the insufficient validity of approaches to its formation. The work highlights the characteristic features of the basic economic culture of a high school student - an athlete, such as the social determinism of quality, its subjective significance, the reflexivity of one's own condition, creative orientation and a positive attitude to the phenomena of economic activity. This approach allows us to identify four main areas of formation of the basic economic culture of a high school student - an athlete: the development of structural components of economic culture (economic literacy, economic consciousness, economic thinking, economic experience), which, when interacting, ensure the manifestation of economic behavior; providing motivation (updating the image, cognition of the image, creative solution to economic problems, etc.); ensuring personal appropriation of the values of economic culture and the formation of economic behavior as the result of the presence of structural components of economic culture. The selected areas allow you to create a model for their implementation and determine the main content of the pedagogical process.
