On the necessity of consideration of cognitive background of grammar patterns in the process of Japanese language teaching

In order to acquire natural and authentic speaking skills in a foreign language, it is important to take into consideration specific aspects of native speakers’ mentality in the process of teaching. In Japanese these cognitive aspects are mostly demonstrated in the usage of various grammar structures. This article provides a review of cognitive background of some grammar particles in Japanese and ways of applying this information to the Japanese language teaching process.
