The object of study of this article are clay objects that are in the Museum collection and not exhibited in the exhibition. The study examined the development of the purpose of clay toys, the transition from sacred to consumer use. The subject of the study is the consideration of the ritual use of whistles in ancient times, different types of toys, the plot that people put in. Special attention is paid to the mound whistle, which was found during archaeological excavations in 1896, the gamma, which reproduces this find, is considered. In this study, when considering different types of clay toys, ideographic and descriptive methods were used. The novelty of the study is to examine clay products that are in collection Zaraysk Museum-reserve and which were found on the territory of Zaraysk and of zaraiskiy district, allowing us to trace changing attitudes in the population and changing attitudes on the usual clay toys.
